Stitch Modern Charity Quilts

If you have been following our group for a while, you may remember our charity quilt project from Stitch Modern, our annual quilt show.

The idea was to help non-quilters to get a sense of how much fun quilting can be. Designing quilts and quilt blocks is often the most enjoyable part of the process, so why not let the public take part in our charity project?

The people that visited the last Stitch Modern got the chance to play with pre-cut squares and rectangles to create a 12 inch block. Members of our guild then stitched them together. We had such a great turnout that we were able to produce two generous twin sized quilts for our chosen charity, The Women’s Daytime Drop-In Center, which offers free services to homeless mothers and their children. We were honored that we could contribute to this organization.

We want to take a moment to give a big thank you to the following people who helped make these quilts happen:

Beautiful design work: Stitch Modern enthusiast of all ages!
Piecing and fabric donations: EBMQG members at large
Backing fabric: Tara
Batting: Stacey
Quilt top assembly: Patricia, Tara, and Terri
Quilting: Terri
Binding: Patti and Kristen

Lastly, I also want to give a special thank you to Kristen who kept all the materials (and people!) organized.

Now are we ready for some pictures?!
